Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and UN Review Development Progress

14 May 2026

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Nations today reviewed progress under the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2023–2027 and endorsed strategic priorities for its final phase, at the fourth meeting of the Strategic Coordination Committee held at Yntymak Ordo.

Co-chaired by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H.E. Adylbek Kasymaliev and UN Resident Coordinator Ms. Antje Grawe, the meeting brought together members of the Cabinet of Ministers and the United Nations Country Team.

Participants highlighted progress in translating economic growth into improved well-being, reduced poverty and inequality, and expanded opportunities for those at risk of being left behind, including women, youth, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, in line with the National Development Programme 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

“The Strategic Coordination Committee is where we ensure a shared understanding of priorities and align our joint work with Kyrgyzstan's development needs. Today's endorsement of the Joint Work Plans, and the roadmap for the next Cooperation Framework, reflects exactly that - a partnership focused on tangible results for people,” said UN Resident Coordinator Ms. Antje Grawe.

The endorsed strategic priorities place even greater focus on human capital development, climate resilience, inclusive governance, and integrated delivery, including through a set of flagship initiatives.
The Committee also discussed the roadmap for the next Cooperation Framework to be developed through comprehensive analysis and broad consultations to support Kyrgyzstan in achieving the SDGs.
