Independent evaluation reviews UN cooperation with Kyrgyzstan
27 September 2026
BISHKEK, 25 September 2026
– The United Nations has conducted an independent evaluation of the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023–2027, alongside an evaluation of the Peacebuilding Fund portfolio in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The evaluation assesses how effectively UN support has contributed to Kyrgyzstan’s national development priorities and results for people. It is an important accountability and learning exercise, helping strengthen implementation of the current Framework and inform preparation of the next UN–Kyrgyzstan Cooperation Framework. On 25 September, government institutions, UN entities, development partners and other stakeholders gathered in Bishkek to review and validate emerging findings and recommendations.
The evaluation process involved more than 200 participants, including government partners, youth, civil society and UN entities in Bishkek and Osh, and drew on surveys, document reviews, monitoring and financial data. Feedback from the workshop will be considered by the independent evaluation teams, which retain responsibility for the final findings, conclusions and recommendations.
The findings will help inform collective UN action and inform the next Cooperation Framework with Kyrgyzstan.
