Around the world, young people have become a driving force for peace, sustainability and prosperity. This was even more evident this year when we saw many young volunteers who helped the country fight the COVID-19 pandemic and, later this fall, were actively involved in political life.
On November 10, on the Youth Day, a forum was assembled with representatives of young activists from different spheres of public life who have made valuable contributions to sustainable development and innovation.
The UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic noted the important role of youth in creating a better world:
"We live in a unique time in history - half of the world's population is under 25, half of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic is under 24. You - young people - can be a driving force in breaking stereotypes, reducing inequality, creating a sustainable future where everyone has access to adequate food and education, where everyone's voices are heard, and where every young woman and man, girl and boy has the right to choose their life path. You are our current and future leaders, and we learn a lot from you every day!"
